Safeguarding
Cricket should be a place where people feel respected, can ask questions and can speak up when something is wrong. A player's welfare comes before a result.
Junior enquiries and activities
A parent or carer should make the initial enquiry for a player under 18. Please keep the message to the player's broad age group and the support being considered, without sending medical records or other sensitive documents.
Before any junior activity is agreed, we will clarify parental consent, supervision, the setting, emergency arrangements and how concerns can be raised. Relevant coaching, safeguarding and insurance requirements must be established for the activity before delivery.
Individual coaching means attention to one player's development. Arrangements for junior sessions must also provide appropriate adult supervision and an open setting, following applicable cricket safeguarding guidance.
Coaching and mentoring boundaries
Mental skills coaching and mentoring support preparation, confidence, attention and learning. They do not replace counselling or clinical care. If someone needs support beyond the coaching role, the appropriate next step is to help them reach suitable professional support.
